changed name to 'Joaquin' as it was easier for everyone to pronounce. This

Comments: I am looking to find information regarding Emmanuel Burgos who married
Mary Welsh. His children were born in Tras-os-Montes, Portugal. Samuel Anthony
Xavier was born 14 March 1792,. Valentine, Mary, Thursa, and Johanna, all in
Tras-os-Montes. If anyone has any information or where I can write for information

Comments: I have traced my ancestry back to my great, great, great, great, great granfdather
Emmanuel Burgos (sp?) born approx. 1760 in Tras os Montes. It has been said he was a gentleman
owning 1100 acres of land, sheep and a large vineyard. He married Mary Welch a German and they
had 5 children Valentine, Mary, Thursa, Johanna and Samuel. Mary died when Samuel as 11 years
old. Samuel came to Canada with the British Army during the War of 1812 after serving under
William Carr Beresford in the Penninsular War. I am visiting Portugal this fall with my parents
and would really love to visit the birth place of my ancestors. Does anyone have any information
on the Emmanuel Burgos family of Tras os Montes?
