Anibal Antonio Vieira Filipe, (no address submitted)
Tel.: (973) 301-5616
E-mail: anibal.filipe@predictive.com
Date submitted: Fri, 04 Feb 2000
Surnames: Vieira
Parish: Ereira
Conselho: Cartaxo
District: Santarem
Comments: The Vieira surname comes from my maternal grandfather's family. They
came from: Freguesia de Ereira, Conselho do Cartaxo, Distrito de Santarem
(Ribatejo). The records would be found in Cartaxo. It's interesting to note that
the village of Ereira actually borders Macussa (thus the family connections),
even though both villages are in altogether different "conselhos" and even
Districts. For all practical purposes though, the Conselho de Azambuja (even
though it's politically part of the Lisbon District) - is really a geographic
portion of Ribatejo. The Vieira Family (or my part of it) may also have some
ties to Lisbon, since my maternal grandfather and his father lived there at one
point, but they are interred in a mausoleum within the Ereira cemetery (their
ancestral roots). Beyond that I don't know much more, especially about any of
the Filipes, Amarals, or Varinos in Macussa.
