Comments: My great great grandmother was Ludovina Gabriella Collins born 1814-1816 Evora, Portugal
(she gives various ages in the UK censuses). She married a William C. James in Lambeth, London,
Surrey in 1835, and died in Lambeth in 1899. I am seeking her parentage. I have found a Thomas
Collins born 1796 Wellingore, Lincolnshire listed in the 1851 census for Lambeth - listed as a
foreign annuitant, with wife Donna Leocadia Collins born 1802 Portugal, and 3 sons: George Miguel
born 1835 Lisbon, an artist, Guilhermus (unsure of the ending of his name) born 1831 Lisbon, also
an artist, and Leonine (again can't make out the ending of his name) born 1833 Lisbon, a lawyer's
clerk. I am pretty certain there is a link with these Collinses. They do not appear in any subsequent
UK censuses - maybe they returned to Portugal? Have also found a Renata Collins born 1815 Portugal
who married a Meade West 1836 in Portugal - she could be a sister of Ludovina. Has anyone any ideas
as to how I can track down these Collinses in Portugal pre-1851?

Comments: Sei que tenho uma irma (Manuela Rodrigues) e irmao nascidos em Sao Cristovao. Gostaria de
os conhecer porque o meu pai deixou-me com 8 anos e viveu em Sao Cristovao. Meu pai Manuel dos Santos
Rodrigues,nasceu em Paco-de-Arcos (conhecido como Manuel Preto) e creio que faleceu em 1982. A minha
avo paterna (Maria Rosa???) vivia em Aguada de Baixo perto de Aveiro. Por favor ajudem-me.

Comments: "Fidalgo cavalheiro da casa Real, comendador da ordem N.S. da Conceição de Villa Viçosa.
El rey D. Luiz concede a ele e seus dependentes carta com o seguinte brasão de armas: Um escudo
esquartelado; no primeiro quartel em campo de ouro um rochedo agreste da sua cor, no segundo em
campo verde uma banda de negro fimbrada de ouro, e assim os contrarios. Elmo de prata aberto,
guarnecido de ouro, com forro purpura e o virol de ouro verde. Com todas as honras e previlegios
de fidalgo como prerrogativa de sua nobreza. Dada em Lisboa em 25/05/1868." Achei esta informação
na Livraria Universal de Armando Joaquim Torres, Rua Calçada do Combro #28/30, Lisboa. Acho que
no livro Armorial Portugues por G.L dos Santos Tomo I 1920 , Tomo II 1923. I hope the information
