Comments: Ayres da Gamma (comes from Jose Ayres da Gamma, born in 1794, in Madeira Island; Pereira da Cruz (comes from Manoel José de Souza, who was born in the city of Porto, about 1745. He was exposed in the Porto wheel (Roda do Porto). In Brazil and Portugal babies rejected or abandonned were called "expostos". Many exposed babies were in fact not abandonned: they were son or daughter of a single woman from an important family, that used to expose her child at the parents house. For example, the duchess of Goias, daughter of my aunt Domitilla and Peter the second, was exposed at the house of Colonel João de Castro do Canto e Mello (her grandfather).

Would it be possible to find out something about them? My grand father's name was : Geraldo Correa de Almeida , son of Joaquim Coelho de Oliveira and Joaquina Umbelina de Almeida. My great grand father was: Joaquim Coelho de Oliveira, son of Manuel Luis Coelho and Maria Luiza Coelho. My great grand mother was: Joaquina Umbelina de Almeida and her parents were Jose Pedro Ribeiro and Maria Thereza de Almeida. My grandfather was born in Brazil in July 25, 1905 in a city called Lima Duarte (state of Minas Gerais) and the above mentioned information was taken from his birth certificate. I have nothing else about my great grand parents, I only know they died in Brazil between 1905 and 1942 in Lima Duarte, Juiz de Fora (Minas Gerais) or in Volta Redonda (state of Rio de Janeiro). If you have any idea to help me find out anything about this people, please let me know. thanks a lot.
